Tim, Tom, Turf . . . a trio of acts that, not surprisingly, advanced into the next round of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT on Wednesday night.
49-year-old singer/pianist Tim Hockenberry has been considered as a potential frontrunner this season, as reiterated by Howie Mandel on Tuesday’s show. But his rendition of Katy Perry‘s “Part Of Me” this week, according to Howard Stern, “fell short” of the mark when compared to his first audition and his Vegas performance.
San Francisco native Turf also received mixed reviews from the judges’ table. While Mandel appreciated the strength and focus exhibited by the 21-year-old contortionist dancer, Stern cautioned him that his future routines should include a little more dancing than what he displayed in the Quarterfinals.
Nonetheless, both contestants were voted into the SemiFinals alongside comedian Tom Cotter, arguably the strongest performer from Tuesday’s live performance show, while acrobats/aerialists Donovan & Rebecca were propelled by the judges into the next stage of the competition over 14-year-old vocalist Danielle Stallings.
